Andrew Waring

Andrew started his music career in 1985 when he and some other like-minded friends formed the rock group ‘Feldspar’. After a successful tour of both the Cub Scout hut and the church hall in his own village, the group separated due to lack of talent and impending O-levels. Andrew was then a successful mobile and club DJ for the first half of the 90’s and regularly appeared as the warm up to live acts before hanging up his headphones in search of a sustainable income, but his passion for live music still sees him regularly attending gigs and concerts – from A’ list overseas trips to local talent spotting around the pubs and clubs of England (and he’s always happy for a tip off!).A lucky conversation with one of the station directors whilst part of another music venture (PapaEcho29) led him to BlackCat Radio late in 2017.Andrew presents the early start to the weekend from 2 ‘til 4 on a Friday afternoon, bringing a mix of great music, dry wit and all the events just that bit further away from St Neots but worth travelling for.He can also be seen covering for other shows when necessary and trying to perpetuate the ‘SuperSub’ myth.
